CHICAGO – DSC Logistics, an integrated logistics and supply chain management company headquartered in Des Plaines, Illinois, was awarded “Diamond Club” recognition for the second year, at Kellogg Company’s annual Diversity Recognition Event in Battle Creek, Michigan. The Diamond Club recognizes diverse supplier companies with which Kellogg spends $25 million or more annually.
The partnership between DSC and Kellogg dates back to 1988. Since that time, DSC has consistently demonstrated its strength as a supply chain partner to Kellogg, growing the business and winning multiple awards through the years, including Kellogg’s Top Gun award for excellence in safety, service, cost, quality and innovation. Ann Drake, DSC's CEO, commented, “Kellogg is an innovator in their supplier diversity efforts and recognition. All of us at DSC appreciate the strong partnership with Kellogg, and we are very proud of our Diamond Club recognition. We continue to collaborate with them and successfully adapt and succeed through the changing business environment.”
Kellogg has had a supplier diversity program in place for over 20 years. Last year, DSC was recognized by Kellogg as a first recipient of the “Diamond Club” in 2010, and previously, as a founding member of the “Platinum Club,” which recognizes minority- and woman-owned businesses doing more than $10 million in business with Kellogg. According to Cathy Kutch, director of supplier relations and diversity for Kellogg Company, “By partnering with diverse suppliers, we’re introduced to new ideas and ways of thinking – which in turn helps us to be a more innovative and successful company. DSC has been a partner to Kellogg for over twenty years and a key contributor to our supplier diversity program. We created the ‘Diamond Club’ last year to recognize diverse companies with which we spent $25 million or more. This growth from our suppliers has been instrumental to our own growth as a company. When our suppliers succeed, we succeed.”
