BOSTON – Nitsch Engineering, a civil engineering, land surveying, transportation engineering, sustainable site consulting, planning, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) firm, announced that they were awarded First Honorable Mention in Boston’s 13th Annual Canstruction® competition.
To address this year’s theme of “Eat the Art,” Nitsch Engineering’s team used more than 1,500 cans of food to build a three-dimensional sushi platter, complete with nigiri and maki, ginger and wasabi, chopsticks, and a six-foot-tall bottle of soy sauce. At the close of the event, all of the cans were donated to the Greater Boston Food Bank.

As a result, we participate in a number of charitable events, and Canstruction® is one of our favorites,” said Lisa A. Brothers, PE, LEED AP, Vice President and COO of Nitsch Engineering. “We have been participating since 2001, and we love that this competition allows us to combine our design abilities with a wonderful cause like helping Boston's hungry. And, of course, it’s always a lot of fun!”
